Fall of 2006 was a big success thanks to the food plot that Stone Creek
Habitat Specialists planted on my property. My son took a 256lb., 11
point that scored 137 during the youth hunt. We also took an eight point
and a pair of mature does in the archery and firearm seasons. The plot
was only an acre and a half. Chad suggested a clover and chicory mix and
some turnips and corn. The clover and chicory kept the deer coming back
all summer and into the fall. They ate the chicory right down to the
ground. The corn and turnips provided food and cover during the winter.
In 17 years this is the most deer I've had visiting my property. There
was one section of clover that didn't do very well. Chad said he would
come back and make it right, and he did. This food plot has provided
more opportunities and better quality deer. I highly recommend Stoney
Creek Wildlife Habitat Specialists for anyone who wants to improve the
quality of their deer herd.
